Pipe Breaking Causes Mold Breakout
The facility is a banquet hall, and often times it was a challenge to find time to get the work done due to the property having to stay open for business. The facility is consistently being used as a hangout spot for senior citizens to exercise and gather for various activities. The mold seen on the wall was caused by a pipeline being broken and large amounts of water was poured onto the carpet and walls. The walls were already covered in mild mold, but once the pipeline burst the mold spread a lot quicker. The property owner was unaware of mold expansion, which caused a greater loss in property. The SERVPRO San Diego East team were able to go into the facility after closing hours to setup for containment and diligently cutoff drywall in order from the mold to keep spreading. The owner was thankful that we urged them to get the job done quickly in order to keep the cost low.
